WEEK 3 GOING ON 4 - NANI

Nani means FYI.  Hey Y'all!  I can't believe the time I have been here!  It's crazy!!  Sunday was fantastic!  We switched District Leaders around and now Elder Zoolander (Zollinger) is our DL.  He's the crazy slack/goof off type and it was a real surprise.  When the branch president, President Stevenson came in, we thought he was going to call Zoolander to be zone leader.   He came in and pointed to Zoolander to come.  President Stevenson has a deep voice, so it was kinda scary when he pointed.  After he left the room we all burst out laughing because he thought he was getting called as Zone Leader.

I listened to an awesome talk by Elder Holland  Sunday night (video) and it was amazing!  He told us, "This is your chance!  DON'T MISS IT!  A mission is the closest to real life that you will ever get!  So make it count!  This is God's work and we must do it His way!"  He read Mosiah 27:11,12, 18, 19 and then told us to go and astonish somebody!  Go and shake someone to their very core spiritually, to preach His Gospel by the Spirit.  He also said that we have more authority and knowledge than any king, prince, prime minister, etc., because our power comes from God.  Why is this (the teaching/preaching/learning) hard?  Because salvation is not a cheap experience.  Why should it be easy for us if it was not easy for Him.  It can't be easy.  So much depends on so little.  He read this poem that I really appreciate as a missionary.

Come to the edge He said.
-No we'll fall.
Come to the edge He said.
-No we'll fall.
COME to the edge HE said.
-We came to the edge, and he
pushed us,
and we flew!

I love this so much because we are now on the Lord's team (not that we weren't before) but now we are in play.  He won't let us fall, he will give us the means to fly, we just have to put our trust and our faith in Him.

That was all Sunday.  Monday I was stressing out about everything, the lessons, TRC (FHE but we teach in Japanese to members), my companion, the language.  It was a rough Monday, but it wasn't until President Stevenson (super nice man) came in and talked to me and just boosted my spirits, the kind of boosting that I needed.  So, then Tuesday was so much better and our lesson with Aoyagi san was fantastic and so filled with the Spirit.  We taught him how to pray that day.  Wednesday we got new missionaries (JAPANESE ONES).  Now we are the sempai (seniors).  I'VE SEEN SO MANY PEOPLE FROM HAWAII!!!!!  AHHHHHHHHHHH!!!
GOD IS SO GOOD!  So happy that all these people I know and love have come to serve a mission!  AH, SO GOOD!

Elder Jenson (Garrett) left Monday morning at 3 a.m.  WOO!  He landed in France yesterday but luckily I caught him Sunday night when all our (Japanese) sempai were leaving and we got a picture!  I just wanted to hug him!!!  UGH, mish problems.

I'm so sick of the MTC FOOD!  I literally eat oatmeal for breakfast, salads for lunch and dinner and an apple somewhere.  Even though they are salads doesn't mean the food doesn't do weird things to your stomach....LIKE when this one Elder in our district let one loose in the middle of an investigator lesson!!!  I swear, he does not get social ques.

Last night we had all the sisters in our branch in our room and had chips and mango salsa!!!
YUM!  We all tried to guess each others (first) names!  There are a set of twins in our branch and they both got called to JAPAN!  So cool!  We were all having a blast together and it's so much fun.

Every morning we get up at 5:45 to get ready to go to the GYM.  I can't believe I actually get up.  Oh, oh, we went to the temple this morning and we did initiatories and it was so nice!  Joe brought me this spring toy that now the whole district plays with, because we literally need something to keep us from going insane!

I know I'm jumping around, sorry....

Tuesday night our DL, Zoolander got up and told us how much he appreciates us and loves us and that if we needed a blessing , that he would be more than willing to give it.  It was awesome because you could really feel the Spirit in the room when he said that.  Fast forward to earlier that day, I was talking to him about maybe mentioning to "us" about priesthood blessings.    My doryo really needed one but she has to ask for herself.  She feels sometimes that she is a burden and doesn't want to bother the Elders with that.  She had the priesthood growing up, but not the blessings part of it, her dad just didn't do it.  I really appreciated Zollinger Chorro for doing that.  The next day Jeo told my how good she felt to hear Zollinger say that and that she wanted one!  I was jumping up and down inside.  So while most of the district left to do something else, the trio gave her a blessing.  Yardley offered it but none of them had really done it before, so I held the handbook open for it and the three gave her a blessing.  Yardley spoke but we all knew that it wasn't him speaking, it was our Father.   It was so powerful and so amazing!  These young men really do hold a sacred power and I LOVE IT!  He told us afterwards that the words just came out, that it wasn't him speaking and we all felt it.

OKAY!  I REALLY HAVE TO HEAD OUT NOW BUT I LOVE ALL OF YOU AND I'LL TRY TO SEND PICTURES!!!

LOVE with ALLLLLLL OF MY HEART!!
